A seventeen year old student has broken his neck in a tragic rugby accident. The sixth form pupil from Truro School in Cornwall was playing in a school rugby match against Kelly College in Tavistock when the accident happened. It is understood that seventeen year old Max Levene injured his neck after falling awkwardly whilst entering into a ruck towards the end of the match.
The full extent of the injury is currently unknown, but Max did require eight hours of surgery and is now in intensive care. The headmaster of the school where Max was studying said:
“I spent Sunday with him in hospital and he was lucid and explained what happened, as he didn’t lose consciousness at any time.”
