A pedestrian has been killed in a road accident on Tuesday 6th October. The accident happened in the evening whilst the man, believed to be in his 80s, was walking along Dundrum Road in Newcastle, County Down.
The accident happened near to the industrial estate, causing the road to be closed for several hours whilst the local police carried out their investigations into the tragic accident.
The man driving the car that hit the pedestrian was not injured in the car accident. Police are currently appealing for any further information from witnesses, but have stated that the incident is not being treated as a hit-and-run situation.
