Twenty two year old Wesley Dickinson was clearing a jam in a guillotine when his fingers became trapped in the machine.
The guillotine severed four of Mr Dickinson’s fingers in the work accident, however doctors were able to re-attach two of the fingers.
Centriforce Products Ltd who are based in Liverpool were prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive after pleading guilty to breaching safety regulations.
The company was fined and ordered to pay £2,438 in costs.
A spokesperson said: “While we had a number of Health and Safety policies and procedures in place at the time, they unfortunately failed to prevent this accident happening,”
“Since the incident, we have worked closely with the HSE to revise our procedures to ensure that this will not happen again.”

“The company has been using this type of equipment in its operations for over 25 years with an impeccable Health and Safety record, and this is reflected in the level of fine imposed by Liverpool Magistrates’ Court.”
Mr Dickinson has been unable to return to work following his personal injury.
