Worrell Whitehurst 25, has admitted stabbing West Ham Utd ace Calum Davenport in an attack in Kempston, Bedford.
The incident happened on 22nd August 2009 when Davenport was visiting his mother at her home in Kempston.
Whitehurst who is boyfriend of Davenports sister Cara, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent in Luton Crown Court on 16th November. It is believed Whitehurst will face a substantial prison sentence for the attack which included wounding Davenports mother Kim Stupple, 49.
The West Ham defender had to undergo surgery on both injured legs following the knife attack. Davenport has been left with a 15 inch scar on his leg however he has now returned to light training at Upton Park.
