How long does a personal injury claim take?
Unfortunately there is no set answer as to how long your personal injury claim will take. The length of time it will take from the moment your claim is commenced, to the point when you receive your compensation cheque through the door, will depend greatly on the circumstances surrounding your particular case.
Generally speaking the more straightforward a claim is, the quicker the claim is likely to be. Therefore in a personal injury claim where full liability is accepted, it could take just a couple of months for the claim to be settled. Whereas a more complex case where either liability or the injuries sustained are contested could take over a year to be settled.
If you have been involved in a road traffic accident where the third party has accepted full liability, and you have suffered a whiplash injury, it is likely that your claim would be settled relatively quickly.
