Eight children have been injured after a bus lost control on an icy road in Wakefield. The single storey bus crashed into a traffic island on Hollingthorpe Lane in Hall Green at 8.10am this morning.
The bus accident is thought to have happened after the vehicle skidded on ice resulting in the bus coming to a halt across the carriageway.
Ambulance services were called to the scene to treat the injured who mainly suffered minor facial injuries and whiplash injuries.
The driver of the bus was unharmed.
