A seven year old boy in Korea has died after locking himself in a washing machine at his home in Daejeon. The boy was found by his parents after they returned home from the school run.
Police say the boy crawled into the LG front loading machine and became locked inside. The LG machine cannot be opened from the inside and the boy suffocated.
The boys elder brother told police that his sibling would often climb into the machine when playing hide-and-seek.
A spokesperson for LG said: “Our washing machines have a warning label so we are not liable for the death, however, we feel morally responsible for the accident that involved our product and have decided to install a latch that can be opened from the inside.”
