Biker killed on A66

A motorcyclist has died after suffering serious injuries from a collision with a Vauxhall Astra on the A66 in Cumbria.

The tragic road accident happened on Tuesday 2nd March at around 4.15pm east of Chapel Brow near Brigham. Forty three year old rider Richard Beaty from Cockermouth collided with the car. The father of five died from his injuries.

The Astra was being driven by a twenty two year old local man. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The motorbike accident is being investigated by Police and they urge any witnesses to the accident to come forward.
